ATS-V Rocker panels on ATS?

$

Has anybody considered putting ATS-V rockers on their ATS? I think it would add a lot to the look of the ATS...but I'm probably too cheap to do it myself :) ACS offers a pair of add-on rockers, but they don't look as good (IMHO) and cost about the same as the factory replacements.

The door skin part numbers are the same between ATS and ATS-V so the character line on the door should match and it should be a pretty "simple" swap out from what I can tell.

Rough idle after throttle body swap

$

From my readings I can find a handful of people suggesting an "idle reset" and an equal sized handful saying that such a thing is unnecessary on new models.
.... So here's my story: 2015 2.0T auto, ZZP intake, throttle body, intercooler, and catless downpipe to custom exhaust. Trifecta tuned as well. No CELs, but idle on cold start is a little rough and searches around 500 revs. Also she drives rough until up to operating temperature. When warm, she runs beautifully. I'm waiting for another datalog off to Trifecta, but is there a relearn process I should be doing or not? I am also open to the idea of flashing to stock and running to dealer for an update of sorts. Thoughts anyone?

I have a friend who used to work for cadillac, he saids he can give my 2.0 turbo a few extra pounds of boost, without bypassing anything and can't be detected.by the dealer, Does anyone have an opinion on that. just asking.

No more 2.0T ATS, moved into a proper V8

After 3+ years, I have returned my ATS lease. It was a fun car, but I have been longing for V8 power for a few years now.
The ATS chassis will be missed, but many other things will not. 2 CUE screens, shifter assembly, a motor...not cool.

New car is a 2017 Charger Scat Pack. 392 power. Tons of power, torque for days, it lives up to being the most powerful N/A V8 you can get outside of a GT350.

Heres a few pics:

I was afraid that driving a car that weighed about 1000 pounds more than the ATS would suck, but they have done a great job of managing the weight, doent feel as portly as it should :)

I wont be going anywhere, let me know if anyone has questions or concerns regarding tuning your caddy :)

Thanks

I added/modded the CAI from the turbo to fit the 3.6 and drop in K&N filter. will add the borlas next i had from the turbo.

Easiest way to disable 2.0 injectors?

Pretty much the title, I have tried pulling the fuel pump fuse but was still getting injection while trying to perform a compression test.

Anything easier than digging for the injector connectors or jumping directly to the starter?

Thanks, 2.0

Anyone buy the big brake kits from zzp performance?

$

My 2016 came new with the GM performance brake package which includes the red calipers, slotted rotors, different pads etc. The package leaves the rear calipers alone and I can't get used to the look of big red calipers up front, but those little generic ones in back. So I ordered the zzp performance rear brake kit which comes with different rotors to adapt to the larger Brembo calipers, it also comes with pads. So I'm excited to get those which should be in tomorrow. It would have been super cheap had a Camaro or V rear caliper worked with our stock rotors, but I guess the issue here is the rotor. Those larger rear Brembo calipers are not compatible with the skinnier rotors on the ATS. The calper itself is bolt on with no modifications. So the ZZP kit comes with a custom made rotor specifically for the ATS.

Has anyone used these kits? Would be awesome to be able to use the front 6 piston front kit as well, but those won't work with the 18" wheels he says. I'm assuming its the spokes in the way, not the rim barrel itself since the V has 18" wheels.

Open diff and Autocross?

I'm thinking hard about getting an ATS but most likely will be getting an automatic. Anyone autocross an open diff car? Some cars seem to be fine with an open diff(miata's) and others seem hopeless without an lsd. What's an open diff ATS do? One wheel peel out of every corner, or generally hooks up?
Thanks, Ian

New Cadillac Performance Exhaust (Plus a factory "Performance Tune"?)

$

Looks like Cadillac is finally offering some powertrain improvements as official accessories. I don't know any details about the new exhaust besides what's posted but the descriptions states improved sound, less backpressure, and included retuning of the active noise cancellation system which is pretty nice. But the biggest surprise is that at the bottom of the description it makes a statement about a performance tune that increases power by 15 HP (so to about 300 for the 2.0).

"Give your vehicle even more attitude and sporting demeanor with the Performance Exhaust Upgrade System. This Catback system offers a more aggressive performance sound with great looks that will not void your factory warranty. It's made entirely from 304 stainless steel with 2 ½-inch pipes and 4-inch polished tips. This exhaust system also includes an active noise cancellation calibration that provides additional refinement and was developed specifically to enhance the unique sound character of this system. Back pressure is reduced by 36% compared to the stock exhaust, based on correlated flow testing. A performance engine calibration is also available separately that adds approximately 15 horsepower when combined with this exhaust system. Developed and backed by GM. this system is legal in all 50 states. (Available exclusively for 2.0L Turbo LTG engine.)"

Diablo Tune - poor past 5k rpm?

$

Have had the Diablo I2 tune installed in my 2.0T for a couple months. It's a huge difference in performance from standstill and rolling, as long as I don't open throttle. Then it gets to 5k rpm and starts coughing. Power goes way down and stutters till it gets to shift point. Anyone else have this problem or idea on solution?

TRS Fab

I got hooked up with TRS Fab (Trent Stanley) back in 2014 when I first got my ATS. He hooked me up with a catch can,
air intake tube, Inter Cooler/Intake tube and a down pipe. I sold the CC setup as I was working on the RX CC.
So, I have the Inter Cooler/Intake tube, close to stock but metal, to test with 2.5L TB.

Note - TRS Fab is having issues so buyer beware.

JacFab
I got hooked with JacFab (Jason) when he first came out with the 3.6L TB & adapter. The first go around was the
TB, adapter and coupler to fit over the stock Inter Cooler/Intake tube. This work well according to my butt dyno.
Next he made up a proto-type Inter Cooler/Intake tube for me to test. Much cleaner setup.

Jason's Inter Cooler/Intake tube works with both the 2.5L & the 3.6L TB's. You just use a different coupler & clamps.

The only issue that pops up is P1101 on the 3.6L setup. This a MAF calculation issue. What is being calculated does
not match what is actually flowing thru MAF. The MAF needs to be recalibrated for the larger TB size.

ZZP Performance

Now if you want something different ZZP Performance & RPM Motorsports has 2.5L Kits.

The ZZP kit is a kludge and was rushed to market IMHO. I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole.
$199 for the kit or $79 for the TB that you can get at Rock Auto for $70.

RPM Motorsports

RPM Motorsports kit at least looks professional and comes in 2 colors. At the time of this posting the cost was $199.

Me I am sticking with Jason. Top quality stuff and super vendor to work with.

Mishimoto's Intercooler Piping Thread

Hey everyone!

We would like to make everyone aware of our intercooler pipe development for the 2016+ Camaro RS 2.0L Turbo (we've been calling it the 2.0T). Although all of our R&D has been done on our shop Camaro, we have certainly done our homework for the ATS crowd. We know that the LTG engine is similar across the two platforms, and we were able to figure out that the intercooler pipes were, in fact, the exact same as the ones on the new 2.0L Camaro. Check out each stage of the R&D behind these intercooler pipes on our engineering blog!
