2014 2.0T Auto oil issue at 225 miles?

My wife's car actually... she reported the "Service. . .oil level low" light coming on the second day of ownership at >80 miles on the odometer. She parked and re-started. The warning is now off. Took it to the dealer... they checked the dipstick and reported all was well. When she got home, I checked the "oil life remaining" status -- 73%. WTF, but whatever, I thought.

Flash forward to today: the fourth day of ownership -- odo shows 225 miles: my wife reports that the "service oil" light is back on. We take it back to the dealer, still running with warning still on the DIC and oil life at 71%: they now want to "keep the car for a few days" while they sort things out.

(They don't have loaners, so they shuttle us off to Enterprise Rental Car where a Chevy Malibu awaits. Wife is ticked.)

There are no obvious symptoms of mechanical failure; oil level OK, no pings, no knocks, no hesitation on acceleration, no smoke, no smells, no leaks, temp isOK. But the service write-up guy says something odd: he says maybe the car "isn't burning enough oil." What?

Hopefully this is software-related or, at worst, a bad oil sensor/sender unit.

I just wish I had pulled codes from this car before we turned it over to the dealer.

Anybody heard of ANYthing like this?

Thanks all. (Bummer for my first post here. We love the car, but... ?)
