Secret to the dip-stick install?

Damn, this is stupid, but I was just checking my oil level and had a tough time putting the dip-stick back in place. I'm used to having the dip-stick turn slightly when putting back in, but this one would turn and then get stuck about half-way in. I really had to try about 4-5 times before the stick would seat properly and not get stuck. Is it me ( hope not,) or is there a "technique" for getting the stick to go in smoothly?

59 views and no response? Everyone's dip-sticks slide easily down the tube...or am I just crazy?
