Front Turn Signal bulb replacement

I'm sure this has probably been covered before, but I am swapping out the amber bulbs for chrome colored amber bulbs, in order to eliminate that nasty egg yolk effect. My question is not about the bulbs, but rather how to access the assemblies to replace the turn signal bulbs. Does the bumper really have to be removed or is there easier way to do it? Photos and/or tutorials would be useful.
