Hello friends,
First post on any car forum ever so here goes nothing! I am an absolute car newbie, the most I have ever done was change my headlights. I have a 2015 AWD ATS 2.0L. I'll skip the semantics but this car means a ton to me. It's quite literally my favorite thing. I commute 120km a day and I plan on keeping this thing alive and driving it as long as possible. I LOVE this car but I definitely want to unleash it's full potential.
I want to do some modifications that would unleash more power however I cannot sacrifice reliability, this is my daily driver and we can have some harsh snow here in Toronto Canada. My car is no longer under warranty and I want to take a modding route for my vehicle that makes the most sense, that's where I need all of you beautiful people's assistance.
Firstly my car has 125k on it, and again I'm driving this thing 120km a day. This is more of a generic question but how can I ensure my vehicle is always running in top shape? I never let my oil life indicator reach below 20% and during winters I wash her every 2 weeks to make sure salt never builds up, and always run 91 octane. Is there anything else I can be doing?
Aside from that, I want to know if it would make sense to make mod my ATS in the first place. I'm really interested in the ZZP Stage 1 Kit:
https://zzperformance.com/products/z...-1-kit-for-ats
I also want the ZZP exhaust, a bigger throttle kit and I've read some stuff about pistons and rods being forged (I have no clue what this means, could someone elaborate on this?)
These as far as I know (which I don't know much) look to be some mods I can do that keep reliability but also take my car to the next level. Does anyone have experience in modding their ATS with this route and how reliable it is? How much kms can I expect to get out of this car if these mods are done or even stock? Also, if there are any other mods worth doing that would keep my car reliable do let me know. I'm pretty interested in the stage 3 kit RPM does:
https://www.rpm-motorsports.com/stor...ance-pack.html
and also meth waters mods: http://www.vermonttuning.com/product...ter-injection/
but I'm not sure those will keep my car running for years to come. Anyhow, any advice is welcome as I want my car to be the best possible version of itself it can be for this summer and most importantly I want it to last. Also if anyone has recommendations for shops in Toronto that could help me out thoroughly inspecting my car to make sure it's up for the task that would be super helpful too!
Thank you so much in advance! I'm very excited to go down this modding journey but I want to make sure I have some idea of what I'm in for haha.
