AFE Momentum Pro intake good news

Awhile back there was some folks, myself included, who bought the aFE Momemtum GT CAI and ended up with either DTCs or erratic behavior. The cause seemed to be that there is a bend in the main tube within close proximity to the MAF sensor and the resulting air turbulance was causing erratic MAF readings.
ZZP had experienced the same behavior when they tried that intake.

So the intake has been sitting on my shelf for a year but as i was replacing a MAF in my Vette, i saw something that got me thinking.
In many cars, there is an "air straightener" in the intake path that smooths the airflow over the MAF to get consistent readings. This straightener is commonly called a honeycomb. I found a number of them online and bought a few to experiment with.

Guess what, so far my testing shows it works quite effectively! I epoxied in one of the honeycombs close to the sensor and I've had consistent repeatable readings with no DTCs ever since.

For reference, here is what i'm talking about: http://www.saxonpc.com/100mm-cells-for-100.html

If anyone is interested, i can do a writeup, but thought id share my R&D.
