Date: 26-Jan 2015

2013 ATS 2.0T Standard
RWD
Automatic
Miles: approx. 31900
Build date: Nov. 2012
Purchased: May 2013

Took the car in 16-Jan for MIL issue. MIL came on while driving along with "Service StabiliTrak" on DIC and two other lights ("Traction Off" and "Traction Control System (TCS)/StabiliTrak"). Service technician read the codes and they came out to being misfires. After the tech looked through the engine (inspection, compression test, and leak-down test), he came to the conclusion of needing to pull the engine out for further diagnosis. He suspects cracked piston. No other updates until they get the engine out which began this week (yes, during the week of 19-Jan to 23-Jan, the car sat untouched after initial inspection).

A little background about the car:
93 octane fuel used every fill up (except for initial purchase). Followed service recommendations as per schedule/when needed. Rough idling issue has been present since purchase (and after two ECM updates). There have been other tid-bit build quality issues (squeaks and rattles, worked on, but still persistent), HVAC (worked on, but still persistent), and info-tainment bugs/glitches (worked on, but still persistent). All these issues have been brought up and serviced under warranty. This isn't the first long-term service for the car. In the third week of ownership, the car went back to the dealer for over a month for the aforementioned issues. Since then, the car has been in and out of the service department.

I plan on using this thread to document this service and hope to provide informative documentation to other owners. I will update as I receive information.
