So just brought my car into the dealer well recently my car has been making a very noticeable noise from the timing area of the engine.
I know there has been tensioner issues on the 3.6l engine but has anyone else had this happen on their ATS 2.0t?
Basically the direct injection is loud but if you open the hood and in park press the gas and bring up the rpms to about 2k then gradually increase or decrease the throttle the noise comes alive and can be heard over anything else.
We were attempting to tune for E85 the other day and man the computers knock sensors started going crazy and pulling timing the second we stated the run results showing a complete lack of power.
Pulling about 7*+ at tip in.
On a side note (RANT) Of course the car is at the dealership now and my service adviser plays the "hmm never heard that before speech "among other things to insinuate I am a complete retard and don't know what I am talking about. Whats funny is I am the owner and main mechanic at a very well-known performance shop here in South Florida. So lets just say without blowing up I calmed down took my loaner vehicle and left. Then when I collected my thoughts I sent MY SA an email with proof of what I was talking about. Which I am proud of myself because I usually just cause a scene. Correct me if I am wrong but its not the SAs job to diagnose the car its his job to take the concerns from the customer note them and then follow through on the repair with the customer.
