Ok so I found some very good quality LEDs DRLs that I really liked, they have the solid look that I think looks great and high end.
I wanted them mounted on the lower grill as I had a look I was going for. I figured the bumper needed to come off and some cutting of the grill would be needed to obtain that OEM look; because of this I had my local speed shop do the work (Wicked Cas in Rockland, NH). I do think this can be a DIY for some of you as there are many talented folks here on the forum. However, I know my limits so I wanted the experts doing the work.
I originally wanted the lights on the bottom half of the grill but once they got the bumper off it was obvious that was not going to work. No good place to mount the brackets firmly without a lot custom bracket work.
Moving up to the top row provided the perfect place to mount the brackets. They carefully cut the grill from the back and it just so happens that these lights fit perfectly when two sections of the black plastic blocks within the grill are removed.
They are wired to the auto light function so they will be on if this is selected. They will also come on when just the parking lights are chosen. They will turn off when all lights are off. The job took approx. 3 ½ hours to complete from start to finish.
There is one pic from the side so you see how flush they are mounted.
I really like them and consider this mod a success (at least for me)! As with any mod I know it may not be everyones cup of tea but would like to hear what you think, good or bad.
